Peel the root vegetables and apples. Core the apples.
Cut all the ingredients into small, even-sized pieces. Cook the carrot pieces and cool them quickly.
Arrange the ingredients in layers in a mould and remove the mould carefully.
Add the pieces of herring.
6 slices of Malax Loaf
4 boiled carrots
4 pickled beetroots
8 matjes herring fillets
pinch of freshly-ground pepper
Mix the goat cheese and the liquid from the pickled beetroot.
Make sure that the dressing is thin enough to be poured.
Season the dressing.
150 g soft goat cheese
1 tbsp liquid from the pickled beetroot to give colour to the dressing
